Love the fancy designer leggings in great patterns? Make cute, fun, comfy, stretchy leggings yourself – it’s easier than you think!

Your sewing machine MUST have a zigzag stitch. A serger is optional, not required.

Wonky hems and fraying seam allowances make your garment look more homemade than handmade. Elevate your sewing with these vital finishing steps. Learn to sew baby hems for sheers, hand blind hems, separate hem facings, French seams, flat-felled seams, bias-bound edges, and so much more! Make your garments sturdy and beautiful inside and out!

HISTORIC SEWING: CORSETS AND COSTUMES

Make your dream dress for costume, cosplay, reenactment, or just for fun! Learn to make corsets and structural undergarments, dresses, or outerwear from Renaissance through Victorian eras. We’ll cover fitting, historical research, and sewing together the project of your choice from the ground up. Whether your thing is hardcore historic accuracy and tons of hand sewing, or you just want to make a fun costume, you’ll find guidance and inspiration here.

Do you want to go beyond the Big 4-Butterick, McCalls, Vogue, Simplicity - but you’re not quite sure if they are “good” or not? And then you buy them and they’re online and you don’t know how to get them printed? Or you’ve spent hours taping 8 ½ x 11 sheets into a full size pattern and never want to do it again? We’ve been there and done that so let us show you how to make sense of it all, including tracing those Burdastyle magazine patterns!!
