Classes


Are your classes suitable for kids?
Most of our classes are appropriate for adults and teens ages 14 and up. Kids classes are generally appropriate for ages 9 and up. Occasionally we offer classes for younger students. Check the class listing for specifics.

How do I know my skill level?
It can be hard to assess your own sewing skill level! We use the following criteria:

Beginner: Little or no sewing experience.

Intermediate: Comfortable with threading and operating your sewing machine and familiar with basic sewing terms.

Advanced: Knowledgeable of your sewing machine, comfortable reading a pattern, and have an understanding of basic garment construction.

Some classes may go into more detail about the skills needed. Check the class listing for specifics.


How do I sign up for a class?
We now offer online class registration! Just go to the classes page and click on the class and session you want. If you prefer, you can register by phone at 651.698.9690, or stop by the store in person.

After you register, you will receive an email receipt with class dates. Approximately one week before your class starts, you will get a second email with detailed supply list, class dates, and Zoom link where applicable. If you don't get your email, let us know. You can also find the supply list on our website below the detailed class description.

How do I cancel out of a class?
If your plans change, and you cannot attend a class, let us know as soon as possible by phone. We will refund your class fee in full up to ONE WEEK before class begins. After that time, class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Sometimes we must cancel a class. We will let registered students know as soon as we can. You will have the option to transfer into a different class, if applicable, or you may ask for a refund or store credit.


I can't choose which class to take!
If you're not sure if a class is right for you, or if the class description doesn't answer all your questions, don't hesitate to email us at tyg@treadleyardgoods.com. We are happy to guide you to a class that's right for you!


Products and Shopping Online


I'm ordering online. How do I know what the fabric is really like?
We do our best to photograph our fabrics in good lighting conditions, with a tape measure for scale where applicable, with some folds or swirls added to show the drape. However, screen colors vary and we cannot guarantee exact color matches. Swatches are available.

Can I re-order an old fabric?
We are always working to bring you new, lovely fabrics, and usually when it's gone, it's gone! If you no longer see a product available on our website, chances are it's not available for re-order. You can call the store to check our inventory.

Help! I'm having trouble with my online checkout!
Please call the store at (651)698-9690. We are happy to process any online order by phone!

How do I delete an item from my cart?
Click on "view cart," then simply click the X to the right of the product you wish to delete. See the image below.



Do you offer sewing machine repair service?
No. We are happy to help you figure out threading problems, jams, tension, and bobbin issues - just bring your machine into the store any time! For professional service, see our about page with a list of repair shops.


Shipping and Returns


How do I return something?
Sewing patterns, cut by-the-yard fabric and trim, and clearance items are NOT returnable. Please make your selections carefully.

Returns of notions, buttons, and other returnable items must be accompanied by a receipt. Web orders of returnable items may be brought to the store. If you need to mail a return, call us at 651.698.9690.

Class fees are refundable up to ONE WEEK before class begins. After that time, class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Sometimes we must cancel a class. You will have the option to transfer into a different class, if applicable, or you may ask for a refund or store credit.

How will my items ship?
We use USPS Priority mail to ship. Shipping rates are as follows:
Orders up to $35 ship for $7.95
Orders $35 - $95 ship for $9.75
Orders over $95 ship FREE!

You may also choose free in-store pickup.

Where do you ship to?
Currently we ship to the entire USA. We do not ship internationally.
