Our favorite easy spring tops!

Hey, all! Enjoying the sun? Today we're rounding up great tops for spring. Remember, we offer large-format printing for $5 a page; why not grab one of them in PDF form and send it our way? Get your printed pattern here!

We love the new Sew House Seven Revel top, a quick and satisfying make with a cut-on shawl collar and cool exposed facing.

REVEL

Seamwork's Hansie woven tee is one of the patterns we offer through Beginning Sewing. It's a relaxed, super-easy make Michele really loves!

HANSIE

Fancy more of a challenge? Try Stylearc's Reynolds top, a ruffle-necked raglan top with peasant vibes. Stylearc instructions are pretty limited, but they have a great size range and some awesome contemporary looks!

REYNOLDS

Finally, there's the Chalk and Notch Wren. Wren isn't just a cute button-front top, it's an adorable minidress... whether you make it for yourself or someone really mini!

WREN and MINI WREN (girls' sizes!)

Next up: a note from Michele, on the final steps in relining her coat!

Once the coat had been repaired, I was ready to start construction of the lining. I was thankful that I kept half of the original lining intact to use as a guide for construction. The sleeve is cut as part of the back, so there's some challenging seaming in the underarm area.

I love this silk for the lining and am thankful that I did not choose it for a more challenging project. It has a mind of its own and frays like crazy! Pinking is a must!

I machine stitched the neckline area of the lining in, then did most of the finishing with hand stitching. It is easier to control the fabric and I love the look of beautiful hand stitching.

I did opt for a machine hem on the lining, knowing that I would not be able to get a hand hem to look nice on the silk satin. A good machine hem is better than a bad hand hem - pick your battles! A crochet thread chain at the side seams keeps the lining in place.

Sewing the label in was very satisfying- one of my favorite things about this lovely coat!

Details of the stacked buttons. The fun striped one fit perfectly in the original.
