Super-sweet new quilting cotton!

GARDEN STRIPE, YELLOW DELICATE FOLIAGE, BLUE
BUTTERFLY BLOSSOM, CORAL COTTAGE GARDEN, TEAL

Hurrah, more pretty Poppie collections! Adorned with whimsical florals and charming insects, the series of cotton prints captures cottage gardens in detail, inviting a touch of rustic charm to any project. It'll make the sweetest quilts and decor!

Perhaps you're anticipating colder and drearier days, though... like me! I've got a couple days out of the store, and between all the cooking and cleaning on my docket I want to take in some Pendleton slacks that I've thrifted. If you're working with wool or thicker fabrics like denim, think about picking up a tailor's clapper. We offer this classic sewing aid in combination with a point presser!

A point presser helps achieve crisp and precise corners. That's the pointed end.  Press right on the turner for crisp, open seams, then invert your corner over it for easy turning! The broad base is a tailor's clapper, and it's perfect for pressing flawlessly flat seams. Press with steam, then rest the clapper over the warm fabric to keep the seam open as it cools. You can also use it to gently tap open seams you can't press, like leather.  You'll find it on our website here, though of course we'd love to have you stop by-- perhaps you'd like a demonstration!

While we're on the subject of cooler days, think ahead to winter break. Your kids won't be in school... and that means cabin fever for SURE, you and them both. Let them burn off some steam and encourage their creativity: they can learn to sew (or keep on sewing).

Register for our Winter Break Sewing Camp! Kids of all skill levels ages 9 and up can join us for this 3-day sewing class. Instructors Michele and Emily (that's me) keep kids engaged making projects they love, and campers get a $35 gift card for project supplies!

Have you seen Rebecca's Haxby skirts (the Brussels Washer and her jean skirt hack)?

Sew Over It's Haxby is an elegant, swishy flared skirt with godet panels and a facing at the waist. It comes in three lengths and with two waistlines (one at the natural waist and one higher). We find it excessively charming and versatile.

Get your own copy of the pattern with purchase of our Haxby class!

Have fun sewing the Haxby and add to your catalogue of skills. Sewing godets is easy (when Rebecca shares a secret or two!). The Haxby class begins Saturday November 9th (10AM to 1PM) and continues on the 16th. Sign up on Treadle's website or give us a call, and snag your pattern today!

Remember: Treadle is hosting a birthday party from 12 to 4 THIS SUNDAY, October 20th!

Enjoy snacks, sales, and the company of sewing friends! You'll get 15% off, and so does anyone you bring! If you can't make it, no worries. Today you'll get a code for 15% all your purchases on the website, eligible from now through 11:59 on the 31st!
