Let's talk about seam allowance. We should know how to sew in a straight line, but it can be hard. It's not wrong to use a tool to help you do the things you want or need to do. Maybe you're just learning to sew... or you have some trouble with your fine motor skills, or your eyesight isn't great! That's why this magnetic seam gauge is great.![]() I got one after learning one of my favorite lingerie sewists uses it (and moves her needle) to make sure she's right on the super-narrow allowances you find in bra patterns. It's handy, too, for sewing one loooooong line. Get one on our website, or stop by the store! (Psssstt: theoretically, the magnet can affect the movement and timing on a computerized machine. I've scooted mine forward so it's nearly flush with my walking foot's edge, not the hinge. I've never had problems, but I remove it when it's not in use. Then I put it with all my other magnets... on the fridge!) |

BOTTOMS UP. I thought I'd feature two fabulous cottons we already had along with some new arrivals! They're versatile bottomweights just a step beyond basic-- perfect, too, for fall jackets or something wild 'n crazy (why NOT a pilot suit? WHY NOT?).
