I envision the geometric print as the world's least losable backpack, and those darling disco kitties as a retro fit-and-flare dress-- or maybe a shirtwaist, with a selection from our Becky's buttons restock! Subtlety who?

Of course, you don't have to go completely over the top. A small pop of contrast can better an already-awesome garment: check out Ellen's great shirt (blue and white, always a classic) with its lively line of glass buttons!

The fall schedule is on its way, and you should expect a few changes: namely, new instructors! Aaronn will lead Beginning Sewing, which is moving from four to five sessions to better accomodate pattern selection and printing.

Beginning Sewing teaches you basic machine operations and garment sewing techniques. You'll pick one of several beginner-friendly patterns from Seamwork (like these paperbag waist Miller shorts). Learn to choose a size, read a clothing pattern, and more: what is a dart and what does it do? Why and how should you finish a seam?

The next Beginner Sewing session starts Monday, September 9. Expect more on the fall schedule very, very soon!

TONIGHT: the Friday Sewing Social! Alas, I can't make it due to some unforeseen business, so I need you to go for me. Someone has to snack, sew, and drink wine in my place, and for the past few sessions Michele has brought this nice vinho verde with more mineral notes... oh, man.

Parking at Treadle

Convenient street parking is available on Grand, Hamline, Lincoln, and nearby side streets. Treadle also has access to an off-street parking lot.

You can park in the Green Mill/Colossal Cafe lot from 10-4 Monday through Thursday. Find it diagonally across the street, next to the gas station.

Coming to a class? You are always welcome to stop briefly in front of the store to drop off your things before you look for parking!
