I think... I think I've been bitten by the quilting bug? Quilting has long seemed Mysterious to me, but I'm sewing a dress with some seriously sharp curves, and now I just want to piece something with NICE STRAIGHT LINES. Strictly geometrical. Stack things like Legos. That's satisfaction. Seems apropos, then, that our BEGINNING QUILTING class approaches!

We'll learn the basics of making quilts, discuss backing and how to assemble, and the benefits of quilting a project yourself vs. using a longarm quilter. You'll make our Picture This! project quilt, which features simple blocks for practice rotary cutting, sewing a 1/4" seam, and putting it all together.

Choose a theme that has “picture “ blocks, pictorial borders, and coordinating fabrics, or make it a little simpler with one great fabric design matched with fabrics you love! We have two on display, in fact-- you might've seen the top (L) in our classroom, and the finished quilt (R) is available for purchase!

I met Chineze juuuuust before I left for Portugal in June, and I'd been meaning to post her veryveryvery cute knit top-- cuffs with thumbholes!! Unlike me, who wantonly sliced into many a cuff throughout high school, she knows how to finish the edge.

As I understand it, she does some modeling, thus her casual contrapposto. Seems like Treadle's been a constant companion, too-- Michele spoke at length about her and the classes she'd taken!

Parking at Treadle

Convenient street parking is available on Grand, Hamline, Lincoln, and nearby side streets. Treadle also has access to an off-street parking lot.

You can park in the Green Mill/Colossal Cafe lot from 10-4 Monday through Thursday. Find it diagonally across the street, next to the gas station.

Coming to a class? You are always welcome to stop briefly in front of the store to drop off your things before you look for parking!
