A rapturously reptilian dress

Another week of summer camp, another batch of ambitious and intrepid kids... I'm enjoying this week already! The only thing I need now is to kick back with a Leinies and some Luce. Regarding the contentious issue of pineapple on pizza: I am in favor, depending. Regarding the previously-unthought issue of pineapple on quilts: ?

That's my convoluted way of introducing Purple Pineapple Studio. Their patterns are available on glossy 5x7 postcards: they're succinct, they feature painstakingly clear diagrams and illustrations, and they're fat quarter/strip friendly!

STARRY NIGHT SOCK IT TO ME

I'm about to make another subject change that kind of works. Bear with me here. So, the obvious best thing about the Purple Pineapple patterns is they're well-proportioned: there's SO MUCH info in SO LITTLE a space! That's VALUE for your MONEY! CAPITAL LETTERS! Why not a Purple Pineapple quilt... or A LOT OF QUILTS, plus some accessories, a patchwork dress, and whatever else you please... with a super-gorgeous, perfectly-coordinated stack of Kaffe Fassett half-yard precuts? This one:

Ten yards in total (ten!) in a bundle that's a little larger than my lunchbox. Ten yards ready and waiting! Ten yards, BTW, that cost less than if I were to cut you each piece. That's a lot of value for $139.

So yesterday I completely missed Amanda, pictured here, who's an artist at Weird Ink Society, and I'm pretty peeved I did because look at this dress:

That's Tula Pink’s Moon Garden Hissy Fit, and we still have some left! Amanda's dress is self-drafted with great attention to detail and to staying sustainable! She used French seams on the skirt plus a pair of leggings destined for the discard pile for the bodice.

HEART CUT-OUT. YESSSSSSS.

And in addition to having a quite a design eye for a garment, she is also a talented ink artist! You'll find her portfolio here. :)

Bring wine, if it so pleases you... and watch me work on my wedding dress. EEK.
