Friday Fun Fact!

We shared some lovely new batiks above, so let's talk about how they're made.

Batik is made with a wax-resist technique, in which wax is applied in patterns over the fabric. The fabric is then dyed, and the wax prevents dye setting where it was applied, creating intricate designs.

The wax painting and dye steps can be repeated multiple times to achieve a depth and richness of pattern and color.
