If you slept through Home Ec. or never had the opportunity, this class is for you. We’ll guide you through the basics of how to use your machine, how to select patterns and fabric, and how to decipher pattern directions. You will learn all you need to know to construct a simple garment in class. Final pattern and fabric selections will be made during class.

HAND EMBROIDERY

Learn how to embroider by hand with a variety of traditional stitches, including stem stitch, French knots, feather stitch, and more. You can practice stitches on a sampler or stitch an embroidered piece to finish. You will also learn how to transfer designs to fabric, the easiest way to thread a needle, how to block embroidery, and how to create your own designs to stitch!

The One-of-a-Kind Quilt class is fun because it utilizes the "orphan" blocks, homer hankies, cross stitch pieces, precious bits of fabric, photos printed onto fabric, even swatches of wedding fabrics that people have hidden in drawers.  Make simple four-inch filler blocks chosen from a "menu" of choices to expand on your theme pieces to make a nicely-sized wall hanging.
