Here’s your chance to sew with us all weekend long! If you live out of town or just want to get a lot done, this is the perfect opportunity for you. Spend a morning and afternoon session each day Saturday and Sunday working on the projects of your choice. We’ll cover fitting, the best sewing techniques, and garment construction of all kinds. Several great lunch options within walking distance will keep you going between sessions!

HAND EMBROIDERY

Learn how to embroider by hand with a variety of traditional stitches, including stem stitch, French knots, feather stitch, and more. You can practice stitches on a sampler or stitch an embroidered piece to finish. You will also learn how to transfer designs to fabric, the easiest way to thread a needle, how to block embroidery, and how to create your own designs to stitch!

NEW YORK BEAUTIES

How can "sewing upside down" turn out such beautiful blocks?  And with perfect points? The trick is using foundation piecing! Make a pillow/cushion cover, a wall hanging, or a quilt, depending on how many 8" blocks you make.  Mix solids, stripes, figures, and be amazed at the results.

Nothing’s more disappointing than a garment without pockets! But don’t despair - you can add pockets to any project. Learn both patch and in-seam styles in class, plus tips for sewing them neatly and easily, and take home universal pocket patterns to sew into anything!
