Do you have a serger you don’t know how to use? Are you a little confused about threading? Take the fear out of serging and get comfortable with what could become your favorite sewing tool. Sessions cover machine and stitch knowledge, threading, rolled hem, flatlock, techniques, serging a basic tee and more. A child sized, cut out tee will be provided to practice your new skills. BASIC ROMAN SHADE Learn to make one fully lined, board-mounted roman shade. Bring in your window dimensions and the first class we’ll design the shades, cut out the fabric and lining and, if time allows, begin sewing. The following class will consist of assembling the shade and board mounting it. You’ll go home with a fabulous decorator shade and be eager to make more. Some sewing outside of class may be required. Stretchy, soft knits make easy-to-wear dresses that fit and flatter. Make a comfortable, pretty dress you’ll love, and build your skills sewing with knits! HAND SEWING BASICS Machine-sewn garments still require some hand sewing for a clean finish. Learn to hand-sew hems, how to properly attach buttons, and an array of construction stitches including slipstitch, backstitch, and more.
