BEGINNING APPAREL SEWING

If you slept through Home Ec or never had the opportunity, this class is for you. We’ll guide you through the basics of how to use your machine, how to select patterns and fabric, and how to decipher pattern directions. You will learn all you need to know to construct a simple garment in class. Final pattern and fabric selections will be made during class.

EMBELLISHED UPCYCLED CLOTHING

Have fun while being creative. Explore ways to reuse and up cycle clothing. Go through your own closet or spend time at any thrift store. You can try simple things like replacing buttons or learning how to make covered buttons, covering an existing collar, or removing sleeves or adding pockets.Think “outside the box” and push the limits of creativity!

KIDS’ FELT FRIENDS

Keep little (and big) hands busy! This is a fun, easy way to begin learning to hand sew, using soft, pliable wool felt. This class is appropriate for ages 6 to 8 if accompanied and helped by and adult and ages 9 to 12 to working independently.

Skill level: Beginner
Ages: 6 and up

Fee: $30 (adult/child pair) or $20 (single adult or child)

BEFORE YOU BUY A SERGER

Serger? Coverstitch? Rolled hem? What’s it all about and what can I do with it? This lecture will clear up some of the mysteries of the wonderful machine called a serger (and that confusing coverstitch!). Make an informed decision before you buy!
