Warm fuzzies will be what you are feeling when you finish your coat this winter! “But wait, you say, how can I possibly finish a coat in time to wear this winter? Isn’t it too complicated and too much work?” Not so when you simplify!!

Working with simpler design lines, eliminating difficult details such as welt pockets and notched collar with lapels, and streamlining the construction process, you will see how easy it can be and actually get it done!

Choose from the simple, yet stylish pattern suggestions below. You will learn how to add lining to an unlined pattern, the best interfacings for wool and where/when/why to use interfacing, and options in construction that the pattern may not include.

SUPPLIES NEEDED:

• sewing machine in good working order, with bobbins and machine accessories

• Pattern

  - Suggested: Butterick 6720, 6385, 6394, 6107  New Look 6742  Burda 6736, 6461  Vogue 1866, 8884, 8930, 9133

• Wool coating or tweed 

• Lining (if desired)
• Armoweft or Whisperweft interfacing
• notions needed to complete coat

You will also need the following BASIC SEWING SUPPLIES (also available for purchase as a kit - call store for details):

• sewing scissors

• tape measure

• straight pins

• seam ripper

• 6" seam gauge

• washable fabric marker or chalk pencil

• one package of assorted size Universal sewing machine needles

• hand sewing needles

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If your plans change, and you cannot attend a class, let us know as soon as possible by phone. We will refund your class fee in full up to ONE WEEK before class begins. After that time, class fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Sometimes we must cancel a class. We will let registered students know as soon as we can. You will have the option to transfer into a different class, if applicable, or you may ask for a refund or store credit.
