Take the time to sew

Spring is here, and May is always so busy with so many things to do. Don't let your sewing get pushed aside! We're here to support you doing what you love.

Take a little time each day to sew a few seams, cut out a garment, or plan a project. All those little moments add up, and you'll be closer to a beautiful finished project. Let's all try to remind each other, in our hectic lives, to never be too busy to sew.

These organic cotton canvas prints from Cloud 9 are a riot of color and pattern. From left to right, a warm abstract floral with a wavy stripe background, a deep foliage print with touches of cherry red and teal, and cheerful oranges and blossoms on grey and slate blue. This is a supple canvas that's great for garments.
This gorgeous new cotton canvas print with big, stately swans has a bit of an Art Deco feel, with stylized geometrical placement and symmetry.

Like the organic canvas above, it's ideal for spring jackets and layers, but would look equally smart as a skirt or bag.
This fabulous organic cotton border print is back in stock! Our first bolt sold out really quickly, and so many of you asked us if we could get more. Here is is! Snap some up before it's gone. 100% organic cotton border printed lawn.

The Underarm Gusset Online

This little-known fitting and design detail makes a fun addition to your sleeve! Borrow a centuries-old technique to improve your range of movement and comfort. We’ll cover a simple gusset as well as a clean-finished version done with flat-felled seams.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

Best Bust Fit Online

Focus on fitting the bust! The majority of women need to make bust adjustments to commercial patterns. Plenty of fit issues stem from poor bust fit: buttons pulling, wrinkles and drag lines around the bust, pointy darts, uneven hemlines, baggy backs, too much fabric in the upper chest, or gaping armholes. In this lecture and discussion class, we'll show you how to make a Full Bust Adjustment or Small Bust Adjustment, how to custom-shape darts, how to rotate your dart intake, and more. Be ready to ask questions and take notes!

Skill Level: Intermediate

Fee: $35
