Fashion Sewing Club

Fashion Sewing Club is a monthly meeting featuring garments, pattern modification and review, and the latest news in the sewing world. You will be provided with tips, techniques and new ideas that are sure to inspire you. Current fashion, chic wear, proper fit, children’s wear and home dec are just some of the topics we will explore.

Whether you are an experienced sewist or just beginning – this club is for you! Bring show and tell for a chance to win a door prize.

Club meets every second Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., and second Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $10 (your first meeting is free) and you will receive 10% off regularly priced fabrics that day.

	BEST BOILED WOOL JACKET Boiled wool is warm, never out of style, and best of all, easy to sew. It is also the perfect weight for fall in Minnesota. Learn the best techniques to work with this fabric, how to streamline construction, and have a new jacket (or two) just in time for cool weather. COPY READY-TO-WEAR one space left! Have a favorite something you’ve worn to death, but just can’t part with? You can give new life to old garments! Make a pattern (without taking your old favorite apart) and make a new one! Learn how to copy an existing garment, create a pattern, and make a muslin to test the pattern. An understanding of garment construction required. Sewing will be done outside of class. Skill Level: Intermediate Fee: $90 Instructor: Michele Hoaglund Mondays 6:00 – 8:30 January 13, 20, 27
	WARDROBE CAPSULE This class is for those coming back to sewing, beginning sewing or STILL not finding anything to wear after sewing all the time...wardrobe capsules are a solution for what to make next so that dressing is fun-it’s why I want to sew!! We’ll share our wardrobe capsules and discuss what works for different bodies and why, body shapes, colors, function, etc. Come to class with your homework (or not) and we’ll all evaluate and help you make a plan that works for you and your lifestyle. MAKE IT SEW Love to sew - except when your machine is acting up? Never know if you’re dealing with a machine hobgoblin or operator error? Learn sewing machine troubleshooting, basic maintenance, and how to get the most from your sewing machine. Top and bottom tension issues, needle choices and stitch configuration will be among the issues addressed. See supply list here!
